Kochendörfer refurbishes Pelton impellers of all sizes. Its own 3D measurement capabilities allow for a highly accurate condition assessment and documentation.
Proven and experienced welders in addition to effective quality tests ensure the geometrically accurate modeling of the impeller cups according to the original. In many cases we can also offer new impellers with higher efficiency as an alternative to the refurbishment of the impeller.
Depending on the type, the refurbishment of Francis turbines extends to various manufacturing technologies. Whether spiral turbine with rather small impellers or large low-pressure turbines with very large dimensions - we are optimally equipped for all sizes up to an impeller diameter of approx. 5m and have the know-how for the repair as well as for partial component re-manufacturing.
Using CFD calculations, we are often able to offer new and more powerful impellers for existing machines and thus achieve a significant increase in performance in addition to the refurbishment.
The refurbishment of Kaplan turbines is one of the most challenging tasks in the refurbishment business. The diverse design characteristics of various manufacturers are well known to us. Many sophisticated new or alternative constructions from our company reduce the operating expenses decisively after a refurbishment.
In addition, our know-how in manufacturing new turbines allows for a significant increase in the efficiency of the turbines by the use of new efficiency-enhanced impellers. An increase in the annual production of more than 10% is often achieved as a result.
